"Bar Med Harrogate Relaunch"

By 9pm there was a 300+ queue outside and by 10pm the place was rocking. There seemed to be two main types of people in attendance - an agreeable mix of fans and Harrogatonians checking out the new style of the venue.

It was then time for MileHigh to take to the main stage. With all the build up, and general vibe in the air, an epic rock and roll entrance was the only way that these boys could have entered and that's exactly what they did. To the backing of the 'Old Spice' theme music Carmina Burana the 4 members punched out onto the main stage from a side entrance. The lights were on black out save for the single green laser bouncing a myriad of lasers through the thick dry ice. The crowd, already whipped into a frenzy by hype maestro DJ Trev went wild as the band took their positions. This whole scene was like a cross between a west end musical spectacular and the ring walk of a title fight boxing match.

Their first song was a cover of the Cranberries classic - Zombie. This was played with the skill and attitude that the crowd was looking for and the band immediately displayed their ability to shine like stars and dominate the packed room. After getting properly onboard with the foot stomping sing along introduction the band settled down into a great little punky, teenage fanclub-esque set of their own.

A flawless performance from these ever so easy to imagine as international jet set superstars was guested by a female violinist spot. In true Rock and Roll style, during the bands encore the Marshall Amp caught fire. What more could you want from a gig?

The band : awesome and the new feel of the venue, with it's amazing laser and light displays, state of the art sound system also awesome. What a winning combination! - Bar Med - Online

Bio

Formed in 2002, originally under the moniker of IV Play, MileHigh made their local town of Harrogate their own with their inimitable music and performances, packing out venues and collecting fans along the way. In 2003, they were selected as finalists in Yorkshire TV's "Northern Star" competition, achieving an accredited second place. Voted by BBC Leeds as Best Newcomers of 2003 and Hottest Prospect for 2004, and hailed as the band that may well bring back music to the music industry. MileHigh are now in the throes of setting up their first national tour. An acclaimed partnership between lead singer Liam Gray performing material written by lead guitarist, Nader Mabadi comes to life when joined by bass player Matt Ramsden and drummer, Jonathan Dawson. These truly are a band to watch, if even to be in the position to say that you were there at the beginning.
