"New Music | Milk Baby – Disposition Of This Position"

The EP, which consists of four didactic tracks, is a quick and highly tolerable concept album, brushing off the the cliché and not-s0 typical subject matter of concept albums, furthermore striving in its social clarity. - Fintan Walsh

"MILK BABY – TEETHING NICELY"

'Milk Baby have a lovely sound, a great attitude. They are exceptional musicians and I particularly liked the style that their Skinner, Jack P, had settled into by the third number. They are of course an originals band, and I really like their music. - Gregory Donaghy

Bio

We're a four peice band based in Limerick. We formed as a band three years ago and in January 2012 Sofian joined the band. Currently Milk Baby consists of Jack Clohessey on drums, Stephen O'Neill on bass, Sofian Tlili vocals/guitar and Front man Jake O'Connor also on vocals/guitar. Jack and Sofian attended UL until last year while Stephen and Jake Currently attend Limerick School of Art and Design. We've all been in bands since we were in our early teens and we frequently attended and performed at underage gigs! Jake, Jack and Sofian all come from Corbally, Stephen, being the odd one out comes from Wicklow and moved to Limerick for college.

The best way to describe our music is diversity. As individuals we all listen to all styles of music! We love Reggae, Rap, Rock, Punk to name a few and These influences shine through in our music. We all listen to bands like Incubus, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Dirty Heads and Soldiers of Jah Army.

'An explosive performance came from Limerick’s newly cherished act, Milk Baby, who were announced as “a last minute gig” on the night. The four-piece collective bossed around the upstairs’ petite stage with rough, trad-Berlin riffs and immaculately throbbing beats. Despite their fresh visage on the scene, the unsigned act didn’t succumb to shyness, which gainfully engendered a smooth prelude to Waterford’s hard-alternative group, Kodakid.'

EP Reviews:
Battling the regular and forcing the irregular onto the listener in terms of style diversity, Milk Baby seem to be on the formative track to their goals.Though unmastered, ‘Disposition of this Position’, which stems from their debut EP That’s Life (which may be subject to change), dabbles with the soft-speedy interchange of the lead guitar and the smoothly-worded lyrics.

The EP, which consists of four didactic tracks, is a quick and highly tolerable concept album, brushing off the the cliché and not-s0 typical subject matter of concept albums, furthermore striving in its social clarity. Holistically, this is just the prerequisite of Milk Baby’s next challenge – gaining the institutional appraisal and the completion of their debut full-length.
