Bio

Millicent Cummings is a multimedia, Renaissance Woman of the Arts. She is an award winning singer/songwriter/performer and recording artist, having released four CD's on her own music label and performing her original music from NYC to Honolulu. Though her songs, as well as her performances are extremely dynamic, she is often compared with Joni Mitchell, Ani Difranco and Tori Amos. 'Compassionate Heart' was the name of her most recent release and, 'Altar Native', before that was nominated for a Hoku Hanohano Award. She was also honored with the 'Best Song' as well as the Na Poe Award at two Mokihana Festival Composer's Contests. Currently, Cummings is working on a new CD, 'Relation SHIP', scheduled for release this summer.

Dubbed, 'The Mistress of Media' she makes art in almost every medium and was curator of her own gallery on Kaua'i, 'Gallery M'.

She has created her own curriculum called "MultiMedia Mania with Millicent", played a role in the internationally acclaimed, 'Vagina Monologues', produced dozens of music festivals like the 'Wahine Fest' and 'The Hanapepe Folk Festival' now in its 8th year, as well as productions like "Cabaret M" and Open Mic at Grindz'.

Cummings has hosted her own radio program on KKCR, 'Kaua'i Live' and produced her own television programs on Hoike and Olelo Television. But of her many talents...Music is her Mother Tongue.
