Ann Brandstadter of D.C. sensation MIMI LOCO isn’t dainty, nor is she some fragile flower, strumming her guitar. She’s sexy, she’s assertive, but most importantly--she rocks--with a smoky-deep voice that tells it how it is.

MIMI LOCO is a four-piece band that offers its own unique version of the DC Beltway sound. Whether singing about bad habits, love gone wrong, or the day-to-day mundane, MIMI LOCO belts out bluesy, punk influenced, 80s-inspired rock ballads, with a flair of indie.

Ann Brandstadter, the originator of MIMI LOCO, spent most of her life on the West Coast, soaking in sunshine, and listening to the music that would inspire her later on (the Pixies, Kate Bush, Siouxie and the Banshees). A natural-born songwriter, Brandstadter spent years creating her sound. Completing the foursome is veteran drummer Darryl Dardenne, who’s performing has taken him from coast to coast, as well as overseas, guitarist Vinnie Holohan, who’s influences range from jazz to metal and is happy to push the music past the comforts of pop, and bass man John Yeh, an accomplished musician and performer, John holds it all together for the band. A performance by MIMI LOCO will not disappoint!
