Bio

New York based Canadian artist Mimi Oz, has been sharing her music with US audiences and touring abroad since 2013.  Mimi was dubbed "OZ", by Canadian icon Sir Bob Wiseman (Blue Rodeo etc), in 2012 after producing her debut record, "Three of Swords".  In 2016 she released her second full length album entitled “Men Who Never Loved Me”, with help from the Ontario Arts Council’s Popular music program’s grant program.Mimi writes within a multitude of genres spanning from Alt Country, Folk pop punk , Americana & Roots.  She is most praised for her comical, slick use of lyrics, wide vocal range & ability to sing in a variety of vocal styles.

Mimi’s latest project is brought to you under the name of her NY band “Rooster”, with whom she has been collaborating with for the past 2 years.  A blend of country meets punk, Rooster is inspired by the landscape of Brooklyn, writing songs about falling in love on the train, the downward spiral of Americanism as well as suicide.  Founding members include Joe Yoga , William Pearson, and Lou Cozza.  Rooster’s first EP is due to be released in the Winter 2017 and tour alongside friend and collaborator Sam Barron, and his new project “The Come On”, February 2017 in the Southern US states.

"Mimi Oz can write anything. She’s got a powerful, passionate, slightly coy voice informed by soul, 60s pop, Americana and punk" Delarue, NY Daily Music.
