If Chevelle, Anberlin, A Perfect Circle, and Linkin Park had a musical baby... Mindset Evolution would be it! A four piece pop-rock powerhouse with strong melodies and high energy hooks capable of dominating rock radio and devastating ballads catchy enough to set the mix stations ablaze.

Biography

The sound of Mindset Evolution has been compared with great honor to the likes of The Used, A Perfect Circle, Anberlin, Linkin Park, TOOL, and Alice in Chains. Their energetic blend of hard rock, alternative, and post-grunge is sure to deliver a powerful emotional punch to the rock scene. Their latest album "Taking Back Today" hit stores on February 10, 2009.
What started as an acoustic project between Ulrich and Bodeen quickly manifested into a full band operation once they realized the potential of their sound. They recruited guitarist Brad Prentice and drummer Josh Blue to form what became the final line up.
Mindset Evolution teamed up with producer Erik Nelson in late 2008 to record "Taking Back Today". Using an abandoned warehouse in downtown Peoria, Illinois as a rehearsal space, the album came together in just three short months. Each band member had creative input, allowing the songs to evolve throughout the recording process. The end result was an album lyrically full of life, love, loss, and memorable melodies.
Armed with national distribution both physically and digitally through Hot Topic, Best Buy, iTunes, and Snocap, Mindset Evolution is ready to take off from their Midwestern town and follow their dreams to reach a wider audience.

Lyrics

Soapbox Jester

Written By: Rob Ulrich/Mindset Evolution

Puppeteer, can you hear, can you lend me your ear? you always swore I'd be your favorite marionette. In the absence of your strings, I can't breathe, I tend to think, I was little more than a way for you to bury regret. He said, She said, specifics don't matter now, I guess I wasn't ready for the bell to sound the last round, He said, She said, an avalanche is coming down, and the king of the mountain is just a soapbox jester now. Puppeteer, are you near? Passions giving way to fear. I feel unteathered, love whenever you need I'll dance. For old times, once pull out the box, dust off the top, take off the locks, you'll find me just the way you left me, ready for your hand, so just pull me. He said She said, specifics don't matter now, I guess I wasn't ready for the bell to sound the last round, He said She said, an avalanche is comin down, and the king of the mountain is just a soapbox jester now. Her majesty says boy you need a map to me, I'm just toying with you casually, just give me a kiss, keep it simple or let it go.
