Formed in the Spring of 2005, Minds Never Sleep started with Simon Cardoza on guitar, Donald Moats on drums and Mondo on bass in West LA. They wasted no time playing shows, being asked to play at the Whisksy A GoGo in Hollywood, CA and The Joint in Beverly Hills, CA. They soon realized Mondo belonged on the guitar so Jamie Jones was asked to join the band. Since June of 2005 they have been devoloping their sound, making it unique and explosive.
One aspect that makes the unique sound of Minds Never Sleep is the different influences from each member. Simon brings in U2, The Smiths, Radiohead and Joy Division; Donald enjoys Sunny Day Real Estate, Blind Melon and Dinosaur Jr.; Mondo, is the metal aspect of the band, enjoying Tool, Nirvana and Deftones; and Jamie brings in Placebo, Kent and Depeche Mode. The sound they are creating is only inproving with every show they play and they are constantly pushing themselves to achieve their goals and aspriations.
