Mining For Gold are a Cambridge based band who have been playing the local circuit for a year or so now, and this is their only available song "An Image of Perfection". It's only a live demo so be gentle, however this is a reflection on their live set, full of energy!

We’ve got ‘Far Far Away’ for you from Mining for Gold below; stick with it past the ordinary blues opening, and wait for that thunder of a guitar line to kick in. Their song is a hybrid of post punk disaffection and classic rock, and is at its best when it’s loud and angry. Hopefully as they progress away from the blues and get more interesting, there’s potential here. A debut EP has been recorded. - Supajam
Mining For Gold – picked by Thom Talibudeen
“Spanking new to the scene, they pack an unexpected punch as a three piece. They defiantly tried and tested the sound desk at the Corner House this year. There may be plenty of space left on stage between members but don’t be disillusioned they’re fixed enough to get noticed, plus there’s plenty of space left for Adam to swing his guitar!” - slatethedisco.com

Bio
With the aim of bringing something new and genuinly exciting to the music scene Mining for Gold utilise their diverse backgrounds and influences to create a unique and dynamic sound.
With roots greatly inspired by the punk movement, the blues and classic rock n roll; their hard hitting ryhthm section provides the backdrop to JaRo's song-writing talent who also delivers the raw tones from his guitar and vocal performances.
The band itself consists of 3 members, Adam Ja-Ro, who plays guitar and sings lead vocals and also writes most of the lyrics, foundations of melodies and song structures.
On the bass guitar; Ed Knights, who uses his blues influences to provide his unique 'technical' groove and finally,
completing the trio, drummer Duncan McEwan who delivers an pounding and imaginative beat for the band, with his influences in funk, rock and blues.
The choice to form a 3 piece was a concious one, as all members felt there was something special about the 'power' of a 3 piece band. When you are limited to only 3 instruments you are forced to make your riffs, lyrics, bass lines and beats much more interesting and vital, also allowing each free reign to be creative on an individual level as well as an ensemble.
The band was formed by Ed and Adam, who found each other while at University. Soon after they discovered how well they worked together, they placed an ad for a drummer. Duncan proved to be the perfect candidate and in their first reheasal the distinctive sound for the band was formed. The band are due to release their first official single in Spring 2014, via Miow Productions.
