Bio

Mink's Miracle Medicine is one band that continues to prove that in music, authenticity shines.  Formed two years ago by songwriters Melissa Wright and Daniel Zezeski, the prolific pair have already shown their skills, prowess, and fearlessness in the field of Americana.

Refusing to let resources hold back productivity, the duo packs up in a station wagon and tours boldly, already pegging performances at notable venues like DC's The Black Cat, Jammin Java, NYC's CBGB Fest, and Knoxville's WDVX Blue Plate Special. Their upcoming performances at the National Cherry Blossom Festival only further solidify the belief that this young group is poised to be the next big thing. Their home-produced demos are secretive, at best, but get a hold of one and you will long be entranced by the vocality of Melissa Wright, reminiscent of a reincarnated Patsy Cline, and the crooning drumbeats of Danny Zezeski. The pair is often joined by bassist John Miller (Hackensaw Boys), fiddler Lucy Cochran (Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies), and pianist Rudy Bzdyk (Plank Stompers).

Melissa and Danny have achieved an incredible amount in music for their age. In her teens, Melissa attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship where she studied with mentors like Livingston Taylor. As a young artist she pegged performances with Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, and was an alternate for the Ben Folds Choir and has appeared on stage and on records with the Woodshedders, the Acoustic Burgoo, Bumper Jacksons, and Jake and the Burtones. Concurrently, Danny was forging his own path as an early member of the Menzingers, and is featured as a songwriter on their Epitaph records release On The Impossible Past.

Drawing from their respective backgrounds of old-timey country and indie-punk, Mink’s Miracle Medicine croon songs inspired by the Blue Ridge and beyond to create a thoughtful mesh of twang-inspired rock n’ roll.
