"Minor Characters Alubm Review"

"I'm happy to say that Minor Characters' music doesn't disappoint - it's as snappy as their dress. As self-deprecating and modest as their name and as catchy as all get out." - Panic Manual

"Minor Characters break free of the EP curse"

"They rework, remold, and repurpose their musical idols into something of their own." - Heavemedia

"Minor Characters won't be minor for long"

Their strongest trait is that they are not vain with their music; they don't push it over the top" -Pop'Stache

Bio

Minor Characters is an indie act from Chicago whose music is a mixture of well-crafted songwriting, pop sensibility, and a rare earnestness that’s difficult to overlook. The resulting combination is a carefully composed sound with classic pop leanings that ends up sounding both familiar and fresh.

The brainchild of the former folk singer-songwriter, Andrew Pelletier, Minor Characters was born of the desire to grow beyond performing solo, to create a more engaging and further reaching experience. Pelletier, Shelby Pollard (guitar), Adam Schneider (bass), and James Ratke (drums), bonded quickly over their love for Fleetwood Mac, Grizzly Bear, and Blonde Redhead.

Since their inception in early 2011, Minor Characters has released their debut self-titled EP, played sold-out shows with Dinosaur Jr., Craig Finn of The Hold Steady, and Portugal The Man. Along with becoming an important player in the Chicago music scene, Minor Characters was invited to play at SXSW by revered music blog Brooklyn Vegan, as well as Columbia College Chicago’s record label, AEMMP Records.

Minor Characters are gearing up for 2013, as they will release an EP in early spring along with subsequent touring. In addition, the band will begin the recording of their first full-length record. Expect big things from this band in the coming year.
