Bio

Formed on the Gold Coast in 2007 Minus Equilibrium is an exciting three piece band that play a raw style of rock music that blends Led Zeppelin style riffs and Who style pop/rock. They have been building up a fan base and playing and writing their original music on the Gold Coast music scene for almost two years now.
Minus Equilibrium are:-
Phil - Singer/songwriter and left handed guitarist who has spent time living and playing music in Tokyo, Japan. Phil has written and recorded his own songs in that time and has used this experience to record Minus Equilibrium’s self titled debut EP.
Josh - is a drummer with a great deal of experience, having played live since he was in his early teens in Adelaide. Being a surfer, he made his way up north to the sunny Gold Coast where he has played in a variety of rock, blues and punk bands before settling in with Minus Equilibrium at the start of 2009. His bustling busy style is perfectly suited to the sounds and energy that is Minus Equilibrium.
Mark - Guitarist/songwriter and part-time vocalist who in combination with his brother Phil write the songs that make up Minus Equilibrium's catalogue. Mark has played in various cover and original bands on the Gold Coast, the high point being an opportunity to play on the local stage at the 2005 Big Day Out, with the band, The Wall of Sound.
In 2009 Minus Equilibrium have been supporting local charity and causes that have brought them into a closer relationship to the local surf life saving and surfing community. On 26th July, Minus Equilibrium were part of “Team Sarcoma Surf Team’s Challenge” where they were asked to play for charity with all proceeds going to benefit the Hannah’s Chance Foundation. Coming up later in the year on the 8th November they will be playing "Kirra Surfstock" which will highlight the fact that sand pumping has destroyed the beaches and wave breaks at the southern end of the Gold Coast. In particular Kirra point, where there was once a beautiful wave which attracted surfers from around the world.
This will be the highlight of Minus Equilibrium’s year having been building to this point and being able to support such a worthy cause.
