"Kildare Bands Breathe New Life into Oxegen"

Two Kildare bands are set to rock the New band stage at this years Oxegen festival in Punchestown Co. Kildare. Miracle Bell and MyOkHotel were the luck Finalists.
Both bands agree that it was a closely fought contest on the night.

Though Miracle Bell felt quietly confident in preparing for the contest, John Broe the lead guitarist with Miracle Bell says that they were "blown away by all the other bands during the sound check"

The band is well established on the gigging circuit, both in Kildare and around the country, where they have just finished supporting the Republic of Loose. However they believe their performance at oxegen will prove to be their largest gig yet.

John added that the band "don't get nervous about gigs, they are great" and were "more nervous about competitions where it is a win or lose situation"

They won't be nervous anymore! The band have been busy working away in studio and Miracle Bell's EP will be available in good record stores for the 29th of July. - Voice Magazine

"Miracle Men"

Bands are doing it for themselves these days. No longer do they have to make the trade-off of signing to a big label to finance a release with all the artistic compromises that entails.

As sites like myspace can take the place of a marketing machine and new technology means the cost of quality recording is ever decreasing, Kildare's Miracle Bell is one band taking fate into their own hands.

After recording an unreleased EP last year the band are returning to studio to record an EP with a purpose. With Temperature Rise being the title track of the EP as well as three other 'infectious' tunes, Miracle Bell hope to bring a new genre of dance music fused with funk rock to the floor. The Four Kildare Lads hope to release their EP mid Summer on their own label 'NoDucks Records'.
"Its fairly pricey" says lead singer Dave Prendergast, "but in the long run it will be more rewarding, in every aspect, to have done it by ourselves"
Three of the band attend Ballyfermot's Rock school the spawning ground of such young Irish heroes as Damien Dempsey and Mundy.
Their style is far from what has previously emerged from those walls, but will it have what it takes to compete in the gruelling music scene? From what I have heard I can honestly say yes.
You can see for yourself. Miracle Bell wont stop 'till your dancin'.

"MIRACLE BELL DEBUT E.P."

The debut from Naas quartet Miracle Bell shows plenty of promise, though it’s hardly an unqualified success. The overall sound hints at something potentially interesting: sloppy garage-rock, with electronic burbles floating just beneath the surface may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s a platform established. Now they need to start building... - Hotpress
