Miranda6PM (born Miranda Allen) is an American rapper. Born on Chicago’s west side to Douglas, a Jamaican drug and mental health counselor, and Denise, a Belizean school teacher, she moved to the south suburbs of Chicago at the age of 6. At the age of 15, she overheard a friend listening to some music that inspired her. Intrigued by the lyrics, she began to search for more music eventually hearing multiple classics and she was hooked. This 90s-2000s style music inspired Miranda to begin writing her own lyrics and songs, a hobby that stuck with her throughout her whole high school career. While in high school she joined the marching band for three years and played several instruments including the drums, guitar, and a little piano.  After she graduated high school, Miranda expressed an interest in rapping to her cousin 6PM Drew, who also rapped and even had several songs on radio and had performed several times around Chicago as well as nationwide. Seeing that she was serious Drew agreed to arrange for her to record a song she entitled “Why You Mad” which is her first studio recorded song to date. Seeing potential in her after she recorded a few more songs, Drew signed Miranda and made her a owner of their own label, Progression Music Group, making her the first female artist on their roster. Miranda6PM attended Ashford University for two semesters but ultimately left to pursue her music career. Her first song to hit major radio is “ We Just Wanna” produced by 6PM Drew. She is known initially for her fast rapping style and quick-witted lyrics, though now she experimenting with different melodies and genres with a more singer-songwriter vibe. Her personality is very vibrant and eccentric and she has a really great sense of humor and likes to make people laugh. Singing more now than ever, this new rising star has moved to the west coast as demands for her talents are increasing daily. Follow Miranda6PM and she will lead the way!
