MIRAS

With a soulful dark voice, songs about her life experiences and a powerful point of view, Mira is an upcoming independent artist from Sweden. In 2015 she took her music and moved across the Atlantic Ocean to Los Angeles to fulfil her dreams of becoming a internationally known singer. 

Music has played a huge part in Mira´s life, as the best way to convey thoughts, to feel emotional security and to express her inner feelings. She grew up being a very sick kid, and spent a lot of her childhood in hospitals. The only thing she recalls from that part of her life is the emotional agony it caused her. To perform and tell her story through her music is a way for Mira to get stress and anxiety out of her system — an emotional exorcism. Always it is music that calms her down and makes her feel safe. Her songs reflect how these realities affect her relationships and the life struggles she´s facing today. ”Music speaks when words fail” is a quote that couldn't ring more true.”  

Mira and the Swedish producer Ari Letonnen wrote a song in 2015 that was considered for the movie Creed. Although the movie company decided to go with John Legend´s song ”The Fire” instead, now that Creed 2 is in the making Mira and Letonnen´s song is once again in contention. 

In 2012-2013 Mira was a part of a non-profit association called PopAid Ghana. It was a charity project where Mira and an organisation called ”Popskolan” recorded a song that was sold as a CD, with the proceeds dedicated to the building a home for children in Ghana. With the 

income from the CD, downloads on ITunes and different  charity concerts, they collected €8000 to construct the orphanage. 

Overall, with her music, words and actions, Mira wants to touch people who are experiencing the everyday challenges of life and to leave a positive message of hope and perseverance. ”Everyone is going through tough periods in life, and we have to find different ways to handle everything,” she says. She wants to be a calming voice that says ”I know, I've been there, things are going to be better.”
