""Sweet & salty, black & bright, warm & cool, quiet & heatedly , melodically & rhythmically" - Review:É de Lei!Arbetet - É de Lei!"

Miriam Aïda, continues to acquire , explore and even expand the Brazilian musical traditions . Surely she must have family roots in Brazil? exclaims some who hear and see her. Answer: No. The music on the new album have been composed by guitarist Baden Powell (1937-2000) - the so-called afrosambans creator - and usually with lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes . Through jazz combines samba from Rio de Janeiro to Bahia's Afro- rhythms. It has also Jayme Vignoli arranged - and thereby broadened and renewed afro samba even more - for berimbau and other Afro-Brazilian percussion , classical guitar , jazz horns and string quartet. Contrasts music , as well as Brazil is a land of contrasts . Sweet and salty, black and bright, warm and cool , quiet and heatedly , melodically and rhythmically. And Miriam Aïda never simplifies the Afro-Brazilian song - like other singers done - but melodies and rhythms are born from one another. - Bengt Eriksson

""Miriam Aïda gives the richest panorama of life's emotional states" -Review :É de Lei!"

From the music of Baden Powell and lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes and Paolo César Pinheiro Miriam Aïda gives the richest panorama of life's emotional states. Here voice is smooth, caressing and challenging at the same time. The samba swings. The sunshine is warm and bright.
Jayme Vignolis fine arrangements are cat-like easy-moving. The string quartet Vindla deepens the slate-making sentiment. The winds circuits supplying heat, coolness and sophistication. For the crispy swing stands secure guitar virtuoso Mats Andersson and amazing percussionists Ola Both Zen and Finn Björnulfsson.
One of several highlights is the ballad "Samba em Preludio" where Aïda unite in bilingual duet with Marcos Sacramento. - Kristianstadsbladet / Sven Bjerstedt

""Sensational incisive arranged and orchestrated music" - Review:É de Lei!"

Sensational incisive arranged and orchestrated music by legendary Brazilian guitarist and composer Baden Powell (died 2000). Malmö-based Miriam Aïda and the band Afro Samba Orchestra has this got to a hit in collaboration with arranger Jayme Vignoli and Vindla String Quartet.

Miriam Aïda handles the singing, language and Vinicius de Moraes lyrics in an outstanding way. I have hardly heard her better. On her earlier productions she is mastering jazz, Swedish songs with Brazilian tonnes (View from Utanmyra with string instrument berimbau and Ferlin in Portuguese, for example), all with the good craftsman's quality mark. - Göteborgsposten / Ulf Johanson

"Astonishing Dynamics"

Astonishing dynamics
Aïda mastered the material perfectly on her new album.
The Brazilian guitarist and
composer Baden Powell who died in 2000 created the genre Afro Samba by combining samba, jazz and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. On "É de Lei" interprets the Swedish singer Miriam Aïda parts of the songwriter catalog. Aïda have previously done both jazz and samba and on this album she masteres the material perfectly. Along with Vindla String Quartet and the Brazilian organizer Jayme Vignoli, she has made an album of staggering dynamics.
