"Miriam Crespo - Thierry's Song"

“Miriam Crespo is a singer-songwriter whose work reminds me a lot of the folky atmospheres of artists such as Maria Doyle Kennedy or Ani DiFranco. Thierry’s song is an understated and emotional ballad with some nice groove to it. This song proves just how much you can actually accomplish with only a few simple elements: acoustic guitars strumming away, a steady rhythm section, a tambourine with a 60s feel and soulful voice.” - paperwings

"Listen: Miriam Crespo - Thierry's Song"

“This week’s new music comes courtesy of singer/songwriter Miriam Crespo. She been playing her blend of Indie folk since the summer of 2012 that took her across Europe and some US cities. She has a new track out called “Thierry’s Song” and it is the first track from her upcoming full length debut album, In the Bones All Alone. “Thierry’s Song,’ according to Miriam is a song that wrote itself. The song tells a story about how a close friend’s husband ended his life over the Christmas Holidays. The song’s soft, intimate vibe comes through with Miriam’s heart-felt voice and a little bit of country twang to it to create a solid well-rounded tune. Peep the track below, leave your comments and look for "In the Bones All Along" in the spring of 2015. enjoY!” - boomboomchik

"Miriam Crespo - Thierry's Song"

“Just had a listen to “Thierry’s Song” by Spanish singer-songwriter Miriam Crespo and must share this with you all today. On the road today driving through beautiful back country in California this song set a mood that stopped all talking and gave me the opportunity to just listen and appreciate the beauty around m. The lyrics are sung flawlessly by Miriam and with an emotional presence that roped me in from the first word. The words were written when a close friend’s husband ends his life over the Christmas holidays describing the pain, guilt and anger experienced by all affected. The music itself offers some nice hooks with guitar and keys in-between verses and has a driving beat behind it all that gives a Nora Jones feeling. This single is the first release for her upcoming album “In The Bones All Along”.” - a site for your ears

"Miriam Crespo: “Thierry’s Song” -Imbued with deep emotion and sentiment"

“Miriam Crespo paints a rich picture of musical imagery with a depth that borders on the magnificent. That may sound somewhat dramatic for an Indie-folk piece, but “Thierry’s Song” is Indie-folk like no other. Imbued with deep emotion and sentiment about a suicide and its consequences, the piece is really something that many people can easily relate to. The overall arrangement of music, lyrics, and her sweet voice is somehow quite magical within its sadness. It simply captivates.” - Rick Jamm - jamsphere

this is not a demo - this is an ep (2013)

Her voice is warm and soft, her songs are a blend of folk-pop and Americana: sometimes quiet, vulnerable and melancholically dreamy, sometimes powerful and rough, but always authentic, like the singer herself - this is Miriam Crespo, a Basel based singer-songwriter with Spanish roots. She doesn't need any autotune effects or bare skin. Instead, she'll win you over with talent, wit and natural charm. Miriam Crespo composes all her songs and writes her lyrics herself, without exception – she has more than enough ideas. At the center of them all are powerful stories whose truths will get under your skin. She also has a knack for catchy melodies and ballads that are thought-provoking, but always bear a spirit of optimism.

Miriam Crespo only needed a nudge to take the decisive step out of the practice room. A fellow guitarist gave the singer the metaphorical kick up the *** and the necessary encouragement to present her songs to a wider public. She has been playing live on the road since mid-2012, and has performed at the Utica Music and Arts Festival in New York. She gained the attention of the media for the first time with her first EP ("this is not a demo - this is an EP") in 2013. Miriam Crespo's debut album, "In the bones all along", will appear in the spring of 2015. It was produced by Swiss producers Luk Zimmermann (Lunik) and Dave Muther (Anna Känzig, Bliss).

She has already released an advance track called "Thierry's Song". It gives a good impression of the singer-songwriter's deep emotional world. The song processes the shocking suicide of the husband of one of her close friends. "Even though it sounds totally cliché on paper, in real life the people involved are left with pain, guilt, anger, and a lot of questions without answers." explains Miriam Crespo. "With this song, I want to bring some light into a dark corner and simultaneously draw a bit of courage for myself –- one little song can hardly presume to do much more than that."
