Lyrics

Move Towards A Definition

Written By: Miriam Davidson

Move towards a definition
Tell me why I came here
I am tired, my heart is heavy
But I cannot stop here

Move towards an explanation,
Tell me why I've stayed here
Once I stamped my feet and shouted,
Now I sit in silence.

Once I was a queen,
I shaped worlds with my tongue
But now I cannot speak,
I've lost the will to run

Move towards a definition,
What is our acquaintance?
We have been together 10 years
Somehow it seems longer

Move towards an explanation
Tell me why you've stayed here
We've been fighting one long battle
Can't we let it end here?

Once there was a deal,
A kind of armistice
I said I wouldn't fight,
By then I wanted peace
Once I was a queen,
I shaped worlds with my tongue
But now I cannot speak,
I've lost the will to run.

Long Beach

Written By: Miriam Davidson

Come this way and you will see
Pale blue on a steel-blue sea
Two planes meeting endlessly
Stretched along a steel-blue sea
Blinding disc of pure sunlight
On a sea of broken light
Red on red and white on white
Vast sea bathed in broken light

Sunlight fires burn the sea red now and here in
This place where time knows no bounds
Where words cannot inform

Come this way and you will see
Pale grey on a dark grey sea
Day and night meet endlessly
Twilight on a dark grey sea
Lunar landscape meeting night
Waves crash in the fading light
Green on grey and white on white
Grey ghost land in fading light

Pale grey sea will mirror heaven now and here in
This place where time knows no bounds
Where words cannot inform

Come this way and you will see...
Pale blue on a steel blue sea...

Vanish In The Sunlight

Written By: Miriam Davidson

Shock will spend itself in waves
And will lessen day by day
Disappearing in the sun
Shock will spend itself in waves

Break the surface of a pool
Shatter everything you knew
Watch your image multiplied
Break the surface of a pool

Sometimes you will see
An old familiar face
Vanish in the sunlight

Birds will cry before the dawn
Their warning with an urgent song
Of night that's drawing to it's close
Birds will cry before the dawn

Sing the oldest song you know
And you'll see what it will show
Mourning beyond recompense
Sing the oldest song you know

Years of waiting at the door
Though they won't come anymore
Can't pretend they were not here
Years of waiting at the door

Shock will spend itself in waves
And will lessen day by day
Disappearing in the sun
Shock will spend itself in waves

Faces everywhere have vanished in the sunlight....
