Mirror Phase is a 4 piece band from Toronto formed by Eleanor Espiritu (vocals), Brendan Koen (bass and synths), Will Groenewagen (synths), and Nigel Craig (percussion), in the winter of 2010. Mirror Phase is known for their unique style of of retro-synth driven, dark pop music.
Lead singer Eleanor Espiritu's background as a theatre actor informs her ritualistic stage performances. Her lyrics describe the seduction of imaginary friends, and the cannibalization of personal mythologies.
Mirror Phase played at several Toronto venues throughout 2011, including The Drake Underground, The Beaver, and Margaret's, and began recording an EP in December. The EP is set to be released as a split tape with Toronto's Autoportrait in March, 2012.
