Misconception

Misconception is a hard rock band with a progressive and technical flair that bridges the gap between mainstream and underground music. With dual guitar riffs, tight rhythms, and harmonic melodies, Misconception creates a unique and powerful sound. Since August of 2006, the band has been composing music and playing shows with the geographical challenge of having their founding guitarist living 1200 miles away in Florida. While it has been difficult to play as many shows as before, the band has used this opportunity to record their original music in the studio for their upcoming full length album. Currently the band has a brand new EP featuring three songs from the future CD.

The writing style of Misconception is centrally focused upon the struggles and conflicts brought about by daily life. The range of raw emotion behind the lyrics is backed by aggressive, yet melodic guitar riffs, giving each song a distinctive texture. Influenced by artists ranging from Stevie Wonder to Metallica, each song exudes an exclusive blend of styles spanning multiple decades of rock music. Misconception has high aspirations to break the traditional mold of today’s music scene. While staying true to their music, the band will remain dedicated to expanding their musical boundaries further than ever before.
