Bio
Misisipi Rider grew out of the vibrant Americana scene in San Francisco in 2008. They are influenced primarily by current and traditional country, bluegrass & folk-rock artists such as Wilco, John Hartford, The Jayhawks, The Band.
'Misisipi' Mike Wolf headed west from Mississippi in the 90s and fronted several country-rock outfits before co-founding M/R. Mike has toured Europe several times in recent years, wowing the audiences with his finely crafted songs and great performances.
Cree Rider hails from St. Louis, Mo., plays guitar and sings beautifully. Cree has become a superb songwriter, bringing his unique vision to the group.
Doug Blumer plays bass and sings harmony, but also plays guitar on many songs. Doug hails from the banks of the Mississipi in Cape Girardeau, MO. He has been a mainstay in the San Francisco music scene since the early 80's. Before joining Misisipi Rider he toured the nation with folk-pop group The Westerleys and Honky Tonk hero Dallas Wayne. He is also the third songwriter in the group, and arranges most of the group's material.
Katy Rexford, from North Carolina, brings a ton of charm and talent to the band with her fiddle, voice and smile. She has played with many great bands, including the current Whiskey Richards.
Misisipi Mike, Cree and Doug provide all the original tunes for the band.
