Miss Caffeina

Miss Caffeina started rolling 2 years ago looking for their own sound which began by recording their first EP, "Destruccíon Creativa" (Creative Destruction) at Pig Studios in Granada. This record was well received within the Madrid music scene and thanks to it's popularity, the band's music extends out to the reset of Spain. In May of 2007, after a couple changes in the band's lineup, Miss Caffeina returns to the stages of Madrid with more energy and confidence than ever, finishing their tour with a sold out show of over 500 people at Sala Caracol in Madrid. They're selected as one of the best bands at the Contempopranea demo contest, they were one of the most voted bands at the Summercase contest and their single "Lo que haces" was used as a publicity jingle on Onda 6 television, which also helped them get on national radios across the country. In January of 2008 they went back to the studio to record their second EP "En Marte", which was released in February of 2008 as an internet download to awaiting fans and media. With this new record Miss Caffeina acquires a more elaborate sound and a unique personality that allows them to distance them selfs from the common indie styles and open up to a broader audience. The result of all this is seem on MySpace, where they rank in the top 10 most listened indie bands in Spain without a record label.

During the promotion of their EP "En Marte" they delivered a powerful live performance that took them all over Spain, visiting cities like Barcelona, Oviedo, Badajoz, Madrid, Alicante, Málaga and Toledo, among others.

As of lately, Miss Caffeina just released "Carrusel", which is their third EP and second of the year. Following in the footsteps of their previous work "En Marte", this EP has 5 new songs. It was recorded in September of 2008 in the town of El Masnou outside of Barcelona with engineer Jordi Colomer, and producer Gonçal Planas. With this record the band keeps working one establishing their own style of music which they've been cultivating since their first album.
From a technical stand point they maintained a very similar approach to their last record, while introducing new elements that give this recording a wormer sound as well as having the help of the wonderful collaborator, Zahara, doing backup vocals.

For the promotion of "Carrusel" the band as put together a tour that will visit Madrid, Alicante, Valencia, Granada, Sevilla, Oviedo, Barcelona, Toledo, and the rest can be found on their website.
