Dawn

BandR&BBroadway

Yes, I live in a dream world -- I can't decide if I am Barbie, Tink, Cinderella, Glinda (with a "ga") or Elphaba... but you can call me Miss Dawn! Most people think I'm 25, but I'm actually 12. I love being an Independent Performing Artist because that means I am in control!

Biography

Dawn Ryan Barroso has been performing on stage since a very early age, when her family finally convinced her to climb down from the treetops, where she continually belted “Tomorrow” (from the musical “Annie”). Dawn has been singing ever since, including several years as a solo recording artist, which resulted in the release of her debut EP “The Break of Dawn” (2000). She is often seen on stage at the Oakland Temple Hill Auditorium as a principal dancer and choreographer with the Temple Hill Dance Company. Dawn’s songwriting talents have received acclaim as far abroad as Italy, where a song she co-wrote is currently receiving frequent radio play, performed by pop artist Christabelle Borg. Dawn recently auditioned for the Broadway musical “Wicked,” winning a position among the Final 15 and garnering popular recognition as “Fan Favorite.” Currently, Dawn hones her talents with her jazz/blues combo “Miss Dawn & the FatCatz,” available for gigs in the greater Bay Area.
