MISS HIX & the Superthicks creates soul music interpreted through a range of beats, from uptempo boogaloo to spare acoustic. Jazz, rock, and dance are in the mix, as are classic R&B, Soul and reggae. The result is a sound that moves the soul and the feet. Miss Hix formed in 2009 in a Berkeley garage; vocalist Carrie, guitarist Tim bassist Eric, and drummer Jared have since developed a large repertoire of originals and splice in covers by Tina Turner, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, En Vogue, Jerry Garcia, Robin Thicke, Neko Case, and others. The band’s original music incorporates many of these and other influences into a diverse set of neo-soul songs. Miss Hix is available for bookings.
