"Ready to Launch"

Bringing Authentic, born and bred rock 'n' roll back to Dallas' music scene, Missile puts on audience enticing shows, with performances rife with howling energy and head banging shout-alongs. Benji Woerly and brothers Aaron and Ariel Bender joined up a little more than a year ago with the intensions of starting a band that puts the bona-fied back in rock n roll. Their self described sound is a potent mix of rock, punk, and soul. The best part about Missile according to the band is to create something genuinely their own.

Heat Seeking, Missile's self -released EP, contains five songs that ooze that gritty, leather jacket wearing identity with songs that are tough on the outside yet tender on the inside. Collaborating with each is key during the bands song writting process, with frontman Aaron drafting a rough first chorus, and Ariel and Woerly shuffling in ideasto produce a finished tune. The main aspirations for the band are to see how far they can take it, including touring. Later this winter the band is hopeing to tour with bands such as The Gaslight Anthem, and Against Me! - 944 Magazine

"Watch: Missile -- "Fighter""

Dallas punk outfit Missile only kind of takes itself seriously -- something Jesse Hughey discovered upon reviewing the band's debut EP back in October, and something only re-affirmed by this mockumentary the band has posted that looks into its "storied" past.

But that tongue-in-cheek attitude is clearly part of the appeal. And it comes into play in a major way int he band's just-released music video for its song "Fighter." Posted after the jump for your viewing pleasure, the pretty amazing video, which takes more than a few cues from the Nintendo Entertainment System classic game Double Dragon, is pretty much all satire. Trust us, you'll want to see it. - The Observer

"Missile"

This promising five-song debut EP doesn't exactly show off Missile's versatility. But range is clearly not what this Missile is aiming for. Just as you'd expect from song titles such as "Fighter, "Seein Red" and "Hell Hound," the Dallas power trio just wants to kick your ass with fast and furious mosh-ready riffs and call-to-arms shouted vocals.

Opener "Fighter" is all fist-pumping us-against-the-world attitude, even if cheesy lines like "We are fighters, we are stronger/ fight with the heart of a lion" make it hard not to smirk just a little bit as you bang your head. And the tough-guy-with-feelings routine is maintained throughout—and at top volume. By closer "Gimme Some," singer/bassist Aaron Bender is begging not to be taken home because he just wants a little more rock 'n' roll.

The CD packaging artwork—especially a shot of the band in uniforms of black leather, scowling as they ride motorcycles toward the camera—is so over-the-top that it seems like the attitude might be just a tad tongue-in-cheek. But the riffs are no joke. - The Observer

Bio

Missile is a Rock 'n' Roll trio from Dallas, Texas. Each member, Aaron, Ari, and Benji had tired of playing dead-end gigs and music they didn't believe in for other bands. Bender brothers, Ari and Aaron, had formed a band called Danger Runner and started writing and playing music they loved. As time progressed they went through drummers who weren't willing to put in the hard work it takes to make it. Only after the Benders picked up Benji Woerly as the "missing link" drummer was Missile formed.

The first EP entitled "Heat Seeking" has been released though Missile has only been together a year. Hard work is already the norm! The guys stay busy with constant practicing, writing new material, producing music videos, recording, and playing shows. They opened recently for the Reverend Horton Heat at Trees in Dallas, a favorite venue. Missile has also been featured in a couple of national magazines. The next step is to take Missile on the road!
