Bio

Derived from Southern Oklahoma, Missing VII was formed in December, 2007. The members of Missing VII have formed a musical and friendship bond beyond measure. Missing VII’s music has been influenced by all styles of music. However, their style is unique and mostly associated to the alternative genre. The specialty of Missing VII is delivering music that is emotionally intense and explores themes of friendship, love, loss and determination to succeed in life.

Missing VII was formed by Mitch Mitchell and Nick Girard. Nick, originally from the Southern Oklahoma area, was originally a trumpet player before turning his musical passion over to drums. Mitch Mitchell, from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been playing guitar since he was 13. “Music has always been a passion of mine. My family life was somewhat chaotic, so music was the one thing that was peaceful and calm to me,” said Mitch. Once they chose to venture out on this musical journey, they were in search for a bassist. They didn’t have to look very far. Keith Newman, Nick’s friend, joined the band and Missing VII was formed. In January of 2009 Tymon John was added to the group as rhythm guitarist.

Missing VII’s first year together produced several songs, and an increasing momentum to share their music with the world. Mitch explains “Missing VII’s sound is an eclectic blend of old school rock and contemporary alternative. This has been referred to as “Alternarock”. Take one part jamband, 2 parts hooks, a dash of chaos and a whole lot of edge.” In 2008, the band was approached to use one of their tracks, ‘Simple’, to be used in a Hollywood movie production. With songs ranging from the soulful raw emotion of being forgotten in ‘Refade’ to the darkness mixed with light in ‘Serenity’, the group from Southern Oklahoma is ready to bring in more and more fans who want to be enveloped in the warmth and realness of the band’s music.
