From the North Shore of Massachusetts, Missionshifter draw on hardcore punk sounds of an earlier era, but don't be too quick to pidgeon-hole them to that genre. In a time when several bands are emmulating members of the post-hardcore movement, Missionshifter's sound and intelligent, meaningful lyrics reckon back to bands like Avail, Minor Threat and even Sonic Youth. Heavy enough to break the current melencholy in music, but not so much as to isolate themselves to a single target audience.
