Bio

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

The words that captured one of humanity’s crowning achievements of the 20th Century ring loudly in the ears of the Connecticut quintet known as Mission Transmission.  To them, progress is a necessary element to finding a musical niche, and that’s what they’ve done with their highly anticipated follow-up EP “One Giant Leap”, set to release this summer. “With ‘One Small Step’, we were trying to establish ourselves as a pop-punk outfit with elements of other styles we like,” says singer Adam Lyman.  “With ‘One Giant Leap’, we’ve taken those same concepts and essentially put them on steroids.” You could say Mission Transmission has truly made “One Giant Leap” with their new EP, mixing more rhythmic syncopations and aggressive vocals, reminiscent of bands like Four Year Strong and All Time Low, without sacrificing the melodic chops and songwriting that put “One Small Step” on the map.  Taking their game to the next level is something Mission Transmission doesn’t take lightly, and it’s highly evident here. Forming from the ashes of former local bands in 2012, Mission Transmission began writing songs as a two-man band while auditioning members.  After spending some time establishing the lineup, the band finished up their first batch of songs, recorded their debut EP at JJA Studios, and released “One Small Step” on April 20, 2013 to a capacity crowd at the Webster Underground in Hartford, CT. Feeding off this positive reception, Mission Transmission has been meticulously crafting their next batch of songs, each more dynamic and sophisticated.  They’ve already taken “One Small Step”, and are soon to embark on “One Giant Leap” for band-kind.
