Miss Jhane

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

My music is about all types of relationship. I write from my own experiences mostly but also from what I have seen around me. I love to create and writing is a passion . The music is always a good blending with my lyrics because I leave the musician put his creativity into it.

Biography

Miss Jhane is living a hustler’s fairytale type of life. She just completed her very first project as a solo Singer-Songwriter-Entrepreneur ME...MISUNDERSTOOD. All songs were written by her, which talks about her up and down in any types of relationships. She did her first launch the night of the INDUSTRY MONDAYS at the Time Square Art Center on October 6th 2008, the event is sponsored by Rock Me TV and Artist Magazine, where she was able to promote her first solo album, she received great feedback from Mr Bob Johnson himself (founder of BET), who was present that evening. Miss Jhane is a SOCAN member (Canadian ASCAP) as well as a Grammy U member. Her first album is now on Sale on CDBABY, iTUNES, Rhapsody, Amazon etc...

Born and raised in Montreal, Miss Jhane has been part of the Best step-dancing crew alive, the GODS OF RHYTHM with whom, she was able to tour throughout different cities. The group was then recognized at an early teen age for their talent which celebrates life as young black teens without violence. They were able to win for Best Specialty Performance for the YTV ACHIEVEMENTS AWARDS, which rewards young Canadian talent under the age of 19. The same year they were able to be featured in different TV shows throughout the country and won at STOMPIN' BLACK, a step crew competition, where they took the title from the best NYC group, to whom the winner title has never been taken from. Also they were able to win for the Group of the Year at the SOUNDS OF BLACKNESS AWARDS, which rewards Black Canadian talent, all of theses successful achievements in one year.

When the group parted ways, she focused more as a self-entrepreneur singer-songwriter. She was signed to DANCE PLANT RECORDS, and independent label under KOCH INTERNATIONAL where she was part of the Canadian group MYSTIQUE, who performed in different venues and recorded their first retro album "DEJA VU". She also collaborated on different album projects as a back vocal, voice skit, etc with some of the greatest artists in Montreal. One of the track that she did collab for was featured in PIMP TALK (original American Title is PANDEMONIUM) which is the compilation album that Snoop Dogg produced...

Miss Jhane has always been writing since she wasa teen. She took whatever was happening in her life and put it on paper. Her first song “I gave you Love” talks about a deep abusive relationship she was able to get out of. She receives great reviews about it. So she kept on writing, it seems that whenever something bad was happening, it was easier for her to put in writing. The lack of R&B events made her relocate to New York, where she found her home in Canarsie/Brooklyn, she continues to bless the stage with her talent and performances as a singer-songwriter, through different venues in the City, like Aura Lounge, Karma Lounge, Cafe Wha, Village Underground, Revival Lounge, Time Square Art Center and the list goes on.. as well in Brooklyn, through venues such as , Black Veteran for Social Justice reunion, Flatbush Family Festival, Panama Festival, Queens and Kings of New York Pageant. She was also televised on BCAT TV station, Bless Me Video TV Show fall of 2007 hosted by the late Lord Bless, Video City TV. She also had her acting debut: KUNG FU EXPRESS (VORTEX FILM), where she plays a journalist. Modeling is also another of her side passion where she had a chance to be on a cover of INSIGHT MAGAZINE May 2008 Issue.

As an entrepreneur, she builds her own company, KHANIJA ENTERTAINMENT and is taking every professional chance she gets to fulfill her passion as an entertainer.
