Miss Neeks & the Masquerades

Miss Neeks & The Masquerades enter 2012 in high spirits having just released their Debut EP ‘Teeth’ on I-Tunes and Bandcamp.com. Miss Neeks is lead singer Anneka Williams who also plays rhythm guitar. The Masquerades are Sarley Najib who plays Bass and Boris Baumeister providing Percussion.
The London based three piece come from a diverse musical and cultural background that is reflected in their musical style. Their upfront Indie Pop sound is set alight by the powerful vocals of lead singer Anneka who combines her vocal talents and strong song writing capabilities sublimely on their debut EP, especially on the title track ‘Teeth’.
As well as being proficient in the studio Miss Neeks & The Masquerades really love to play live, the stage being their natural home. They recently played at the Latitude Festival, as well as playing regularly in London. Anneka’s natural talent and confidence in front of the camera shines in the recent video of their performance at The Queen of Hoxton and in the music video for ‘Teeth’.
The band formed in 2010 when Anneka, who was singing solo gigs at venues around the capital met bassist Sarley Najib at a gig. The two hit it off and spent the next month writing songs together before hooking up with Sarleys long time friend and drummer, Boris. Miss Neeks & The Masquerades were born and have been striving and creating ever since with the recent culmination being the release of their debut EP ‘Teeth’. The best is yet to come, with more live dates and new songs planned for 2012 and beyond Miss Neeks & The Masquerades are a band aiming to push hard and break through this year.
