Miss Saxy

“Miss Saxy”, born Katherine Grant is a hot new female musician from the south. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Miss Saxy grew up in a musical family. She spent many of her summers as a child in Dekalb, Mississippi with her grandparents who taught her at a young age what ‘real’ music was, such as jazz and original soul. Every summer Miss Saxy sat on the porch with her grandpa and his guitar and it built her love for music even more. At the young age of six, Miss Saxy dealt with the separation of parents by learning how to play her first instrument, the violin. After a move to Tupelo, Mississippi and being inspired by her grandpa’s favorite song, “Grazing In The Grass”, by Hugh Masakela, she then picked up the saxophone. Her musical abilities grew as she discovered her natural talents in music. Naturally Miss Saxy began to mix music with her CD’s and wanted to try to be a DJ just like her father ,DB Grant and with a little of his help, Miss Saxy found her natural ability to become a turntablist.
To date, Miss Saxy is known as one of the best DJ’s in the Mississippi Delta, with clients growing everyday. Miss Saxy practices to make sure she stays on top of things, so when it comes to playing her saxophone, her performance amazes crowds and often brings people to tears. She is currently working on a musical album titled “the sax is born”, and a mix tape titled “who want it” featuring Atlanta R&B sensation Alise Holliday.
Miss Saxy appeals to audiences of all ages as she mixes old with new and touches the feelings of any ordinary person. She stated, “I Love to touch the inner emotion of my audience and make the crowd feel as one”. Saxy’s musical visions are far from ordinary, and this young artist is ready for her musical journey to rise.
