Mista Wicket

BandHip Hop

People judge hip-hop on cases pitting freedom of speech vs censorship. Messages in the music raise questions of values, almost implying that the hip hop culture doesn't have one. I'm looking to show that a modern hip-hop classic does NOT have to have a Parental Advory sticker, and can still bang.

Biography

Mista Wicket is the founder of Mad Funk Entertainment and Mad Funk Production. He's established the two opperations to work together towards creating original music. He uses tracks for his own albums that are created by him through his production company.

Mista Wicket's interest in music developed early as a child while playing drums in the church. He played in band throughout his schooling to study music, and began using keyboards to create his own full arrangements. These experiences have all combined to help Mista Wicket find the unique sound he brings to the table through music.

The Vision

The Vision

Verse: 1
Imagine a world where ain't no body gotta lock they door
& ain't nobody looking hungry, begging for change or
worry about being Judged off a 5 second glance -
Cause in a perfect world - We'd all get a chance
To make that first impression, but it's not So I -
Wonder why watching as time flies by
I could see a world united, without blood spilled
Where your choice is your voice & if you use it, you ain't killed
Freedom of speech goes beyond the words.
I pray for the day when churches aren't threatened to get burned
& God's children can all safley walk the streets
without fear of persecution from the world & seek
To spread the good news. Disease is old news
& Scientist discover that God works in mysterious ways too
Wouldn't it be somthin to see a prison full of empty jail cells,
& not have to worry about overdue bills in the mail?
Just think What A beautiful world we'd be livin in
Just think if the world was without sin,
But it's not, that's just me being wishfull & all but still
I know that anything can happen if it's in God will...

Hook:
That's just part of a picture I can't help but envision
& I wish that I could draw it,but I can't on my own
I wasn't blessed with that artistic gift to pain't the world as I
vision; So I wrote it in this song
Sooner or later, I'll face God the creator, kneelin before the holy
spirt, & His son at His throne
Praying for a chance to see that vision in heaven; & earn a spot in his
kingdom as my eternal home

Verse: 2
Imagine a world without fammine hurricanes & Tsunami's
earthquakes, & tornado's endangerin families
A world not trying to fight us off like parasitic diseases
Coexsisting with nature like adam & eve did,
Before the apple was bitten; I'm talkin blissfull times
no abusivie relationships thanks to liquors & wines
imagine Not having drug addictions to worry about
or Peer pressure comin outta the mouths of so called friends;
& in the end we all to gether again!
It's like everytime you play the game you can't help but win
cause Sorrow & dissapointments can't be found
dissaster ainlt hangin around, & disturbances ain't makin a sound
a place where people aren't afraid to earn their keep
& you don't remember the last time you saw a person with no where to
sleep
What a sight that would be to behold
& To see it with your own eyes could really touch your soul
Bring back human emotions to this life we live
pure & simple innocence to experience as a kid...
& music went back to the source of it's original roots
Inspiring those who listen, worship, or even praise in groups
- & when you hear it on your own,
It got you in a zone mesmurized to beat of the song
that plays; & it sounds so sweet
Music is theraputic to the minds it reach-es
& life is sweet like well aged peach-es
What you want & what you need is within reach - man
But it's not, that's just me being wishfull & all but still
I know that anything can happen if it's in God will...

Hook:
That's just part of a picture I can't help but envision
& I wish that I could draw it,but I can't on my own
I wasn't blessed with that artistic gift to pain't the world as I
vision; So I wrote it in this song
Sooner or later, I'll face God the creator, kneelin before the holy

What's Real?

Written By: W. Andrus aka Mista Wicket

What's Real?

Verse: 1
Aiight C'mon! Everybody gather round take a look
I leave 'em shook like fish on a hook
What's really real? Ya'll got skill.
Takin cuts in line tryin to find that meal
Ticket But Wicket can't get with it
So I frown at y'all tryin to act so slick -
It's sickenin cause I don't walk the same path as y'all
But I reap the repurcussion cause of all of y'all
Slangin them them thang till them boy's in blue come through
Yeah, I know You don't care as long as it ain't you
But this bomb blew up and when it finally hit my home
I went Skitzephrenic in the streets lookin for who did it as I roam
& when I found em, I was punisher; much more than a hassle
Up in that grill like Frank Castle
But Thank God I knew grace of the lord
It could have ended bad for dude on that 5th street curb
& That's real...

Hook: 1
If you hatin, we different
& if you skeptik, we take hints
but you ain't gotta front with us like you all so tough

If you bangin, we listen
If you slangin, we trippin
but if you say you somthin that you aint, we callin your bluff

If you pimpin we, got you
& if you husltin, we'll rock you
so whatch your back cause what you doin ain't safe
& that's reall...

If you jackin, we creepin
& If you usin, we bleedin
what goes around comes around & who would want that fate?
Cause that's reall...

Verse: 2
Ya'll frown & look down on me & my kind,
Maybe that's why we so hard to find
But I see em & they see you too.
While you chucklin lookin at us like what we gonna do
But Do you really wanna know?
Wake up at six, to work a 8-4
or my 9-5 - That's your kryptonite
we avoidin them not so lonley prison nights
See livin life to the fullest ain't about buildin a rep
It handlin your biz, takin life step by step,
Y'all ink scriptures on your arms like hypocritic fools
It's wisdom in them words, Hopefully you read em too.
God's grace ain't scared of you
& God's mercy ain't intimidated by anything that you do
So all y'all that rep it right
I know it's a long fight, but hold tight it'll be alright
& That's real

Hook: 2
If you hatin, we different
& if you skeptik, we take hints
but by God's grace - we gonna lead by example

If you do it right, we'll spot you
stay in the light, then we got you
cause ain't nothin too big for my God to handle

If you workin', We with you
& if hurtin', we feel you
But stay strong cause like the song, see we destine to rise
& that's real

If you livin the struggle,
If you fightin clawin & hustle
You gonna get all that you earned when it's comes your time

Verse: 3
You see the truth of the matter is we a nation divided
& I'mma tell you like it is, We ain't civil about it
now it's easy to say but it ain't easy to do.
Ask anyone tryin to break a habit, & you may find that it's true
It's more to life than - your hustle
We push & pull through the rubble
That was left from when it all came tumblin down
It's more to life than - your flexin
Big barkin dogs with no neck &
y'all roam the grounds makin us look hounds
I said it & yeah I meant, y'all be working my nerves
see me on the streets with my fam & askin me where the herb?
Now tell me what I look like? Y'all tryin to get served
Y'all got me twisted cause I ain't the cat you call on ya curb
see I ain't got no luv for that ocupation
just Call me a victim of the ghetto who's eye's is wide awake man
I ain't got no luv for that ocupation
just Call me a victim of the ghetto who's eye's is wide awake man

Hook: 3
If you hatin, we different

but you ain't gotta front with us like you all so tough

Back

Verse: 1
Look who's finally back on the block!
But not for long! (gunshot) Mista Wicket coming off of the blocks - runnin real
strong
Right on course. Strong & steady on my way to the finish line
So I can polish the game with a much needed spit shine
Just like heinz, good things come to those who wait
& y'all patiently waited so now lets end the debate.
You want it? Come get what you looking for cause its hot
Spark some soul up into the music like a cardiac shock
I know y'all been lookin for a new route to get you outta this drought
So as I step to the plate, I got the feeling I'm knockin em out...
... Outta the park, Outta site outta mind.
Grand slam with a mic - Cause I'm heavy on the grind.
If y'all ain't ready then y'all better hurry,
When this Jedi returns, the rap empire has a reason to worry.
watch the flurry of my primal rage
crushin those that oppose like my name was Luke Cage.
Sweet Christmas! It's go time y'all!
Don't drop the soap, or the ball Ante up & don't stall.
You make the call... Who got next now?
playing charades on the mic, but thats done w/ pal.
I mean come on! I told y'all to do it right!
But it seems that y'all do it wrong outta of spite
& if I'm right, y'all can resign on sight.
or y'all Nixon MCs'll get impeached from the mic.

Hook:
Welcome to hip-hop y'all hope you enjoy your stay
This is the movment Where the real emcees play
Say what you say! Hip-hop is here to stay!
No how no way is the culture bout to be played
x2

Verse: 2
Pause ~ Unpause.
Let me continue from where I left off
For those that complaining, thinking that my game's soft
You gotta open ya mind and expand your horizons
Cause it's plenty rappers that can feed you with tales of sex, drugs &
violence
So I walkin in silence - on the road less traveled
Stayin out the mainstream; feet pushin hard on the gravel
Just to show you it can be done -
That's why I'm back to break this strangle hold the industry begun
Cause I ain't liking what I'm hearin on these radio stations
& When they Old School mixes is done; it's back to the 5 CD's they play in
they regular rotation
The hip-hop nation need to take a stand.
But we gotta come together & strengthen that mic hand
my Mic stand is empty like my expectations
I told em all to do it right, but they starin back with blank faces
the pace is barbaric, how quick they quickly turn
Forget where they roots is until they get burnt by the sun
Star light shine bright till it fizzle's out
Then you start to understand what this music game is all about.
It's a buisness, think of it as modern slave trade
The money's made at the bottom, but the top takes it with no shame
You can call me bitter, but I'm just expressin my views
They could see it too, if they ever walked in my shoes
This whole world feels corrupt to the core in fact
That I gotta judge it with my mic So now it ain't no turnin back

Hook:
Welcome to hip-hop y'all hope you enjoy your stay

Verse: 3
Y'all Fake emcee that been trying to run the game
About to face a mutiny & I'll gladly take the blame
It ain't just me, It's other cat's that's feelin my tone
When I say ya'll need to let the game evolve on it's own -
hostile agression, resistance is futile
Man i'll 2nd Keith; Y'all better off with a coke & a smile
Y'all musical Dictators meet my musical cross fader
Problem solved, If I was the DJ that had to played ya
animosity built up like a Magma erruption
Both ways ain't nothin but bickerin, fuedin & fussin
Just a bunch of Hip-hop heads, & a bunch of Rappers.
Makin moves like a chess game, lookin to capture
a confused fan base that partial to blame
Cause they ain't even knowin that it's two different things.
Sheep heardin just move with the masses
in a land full of Wolves Blendin in to attack us
But these so called shepards ain't even on they watch
Preoccupied with the power, wealth & fame they got
So we know what it is that got you brainwashed
So this is a rescue mission; to recover what was lost
& to bring you back - I'm here to search & destroy
All that would oppose, once this lyrical vessel deploys
this one is for the music, So i'm Fadin to black -
on the attack to Take the game & bring it back so bring it back!
