Mister Baby

Mister Baby is an original rock music band based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Comprised of 4 members, the band features Megan Huddleston singing lead and playing rhythm electric guitar, Jesse Suhl Fiske of the Hackensaw Boys on lead electric guitar, Jake Hopping, formerly of King Wilkie, on upright bass, and Josh Lowry of The Last Blackouts rocking the drums.
The band plays original songs penned and sung by Ms. Huddleston. Her lyrics cover topics ranging from plotting to bury her lover to worrying about a local drowning victim to enjoying the view from the rooftop of a friend’s apartment. The unexpected mixture of musicians playing both traditional and electric instruments provides an engaging and entertaining show, mostly at a rollicking pace but interspersed with more ballad-like songs and the occasional traditional Appalachian tune made fresh and quite different from the standard versions.
Mister Baby’s influences are about as varied as possible among 4 humans (Megan usually listens to rap while Jesse enjoys French chanteuserie, for example), but all members have been deeply influenced by old-time music. This may explain the nearly country sound of the band but it’s clear that Mister Baby shows up with the intent to rock. And they always deliver.
