“Many a young band has started with a bored teen picking up a guitar for the first time and strumming a few chords. Misterfire’s musical pedigree is something more impressive. The Saskatoon group... is experienced beyond its years. ”
Stephanie McKay - The Star Phoenix - The Star Phoenix
“Sometimes bands are purely driven by their interest in the music, in the effect it has on an audience and in having a good time doing what they love. This is the case with Misterfire.”
Aren Bergstrom - The Sheaf - The Sheaf
“One of the coolest things about a band that can play well, and especially those who dabble in forms like jazz, is their ability to improvise and have fun with the audience — and Misterfire has that in spades.”
Craig Silliphant - Planet S Magazine - Planet S Magazine
“On All Lit Up the band leapfrogs through high-octane ska that retains that solid level of musicianship and talent without ever coming off as boastful or showy. But even more importantly, Misterfire keeps things fun and dancey.”

Bio
How do you describe an eclectic fusion of ska, rock, reggae, funk, Latin and jazz? One word: Misterfire! The band’s unique blend of genres caters to listeners of all musical backgrounds, with the added promise of a high-energy performance each time they take the stage. Now that the release of their debut album “All Lit Up” is under their belts, Misterfire is rapidly making a name for themselves in the Canadian music scene.
The band’s sound would be nothing without the sum of its very capable parts. Frontman Ben Fortosky takes centre stage with his patented combination of vocals, trumpet and guitar. Meanwhile, instrumental powerhouse Jordan Welbourne (guitar/backing vocals) and Cameron Baribeau (keyboard/trombone) inject the band with their rapid-fire riffs and solos. Finally, setting a rhythmic foundation firmer than the Appalachians are Emmett Fortosky and on bass and Ethan McKibben on drums, both of whom are rumoured to have studied the mystery of time with ancient Zen masters.
Whether it’s their swelling set of signature songs, or their crisp collection of customized covers, Misterfire promises a show that will get you fired up and leave you craving more.
