Bio

Once described by an enthusiastic fan as "the love child of The Doors and Iron Maiden," Mister Jolly began our heroic and virtuous journey in November of 2010 when Ari the guitar player and original drummer Oliver John Burke Society joined forces with two ex-members of The Neverbeens/Orange Monsoon, singer Steve Ferrara and Supreme Snuggle Bunny Commander, Rev. Crawford Forbes. In mid-2011, after Burke departed for the hot pastures of New Orleans, Mister J brought on the Bronx's legendary Greg Insero on drums. In January 2013, the one and only "King of Washington Heights," J. Marko, joined up on the bass, and the thing that Mister Jolly is now was complete.

We are a dapper group of humane troglodytes. Sometimes we hit heavy. Sometimes we take it down a notch or three. Sometimes, we find ourselves somewhere in the middle. In a nutshell, our diverse set of musical tastes culminates in a picaresque barrage of multi-genre frenzy.

Our songs tend to be on the cynical side, lyric-wise, as we strive to send a message that things are not all right with the world, commenting on everything from hate crimes to world politics to the gross decadence of celebrity. At the same time, that recognition of the world askew is what drives us to talk about the world in the first place. We're not trying to change the world, but we still care about it.
