Bio
You can't keep a good band down. And you can't keep a bunch of half heads from playing the music they love as loudly and as passionately as they possibly can. Money in the Banana Stand have been playing honest, raw, noisy folk-punk tunes since the Summer of 2008. Originally based in Richmond, the band spent the next few months meandering in and out of existence, and now finds its home in Charlottetown, PEI, where they've played house shows, local pubs and all ages venues since the Spring of 2009.
Money's music is upbeat and straight from the heart. Armed with literary references from the likes of Shakespeare, Bizet, Vonnegut and the Crack Rock Steady Seven (cleverly disguised in savage bellows, melodic shouts and catchy, hard hitting beats), Money in the Banana Stand sounds like a million homeless people pushing a million shopping carts over the god damned confederation bridge, and loving every second of it.
MITBS have played with such esteemed acts as Living With Lions, Today I Caught the Plague and Children of Eve, and of course Ctown locals Syracuse Me, Boxer the Horse, and Slave Class. Their first release, There's Always will be available early 2010.
