Mitchell Cartwright

In an age where everything’s already been said, done and recycled, Mitchell simply describes his music as being reminiscent of the days when computers were only used by scientists and music was still created by gifted musicians.
Having discovered the guitar at the age of six, Mitchell soon taught himself the Beatles songs he heard at his parents’ house. At 14, he fell in love with hip hop, and began making beats for local rappers on any equipment he could get his hands on. Sifting through soul and funk records on a quest for samples, he hit upon Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder, a record that would inspire him to start writing his own songs.
Although his songwriting covers a wide variety of styles, a distinct sound can be distinguished in each of his self-produced songs. Whether it’s his melodic bass lines, clever arrangements, vocal harmonies or use of chord changes, it all represents Mitchell’s characteristic output.
His main goal now is to get his album (on which he played all instruments) out into the world. In addition, Mitchell is looking to collaborate with other songwriters and play on other artists’ records.
