Catchy. Smart. Lyrically dark. But catchy. mitchell_dot_wave combines the clever and the musically addictive, while celebrating that moment in relationships before the ice cracks and you go under. Singing, at least.

Although mitchell_dot_wave is my first solo project, I’ve been a poet, I’ve written short stories, I’ve hosted an underground radio show, and I was part of a boy/girl folk noir duo.

mitchell_dot_wave, indie/folk rock/acoustic musician, sometimes poet, and underground radio host, presents a body of songs with a poetic vision exploring the uncertainties and betrayals of contemporary life, boiled down to sleek, deceptively simple lyrics, bite-sized literate pleasures for a post, post-troubadour mindset.

mitchell_dot_wave's mature, rich and direct voice delivers hologram-like songs in which contradictory happy/sad emotions lead to an emotional Third Way. Musically, the guitars merge electric and acoustic in assured configurations, laying the foundation for tunes which fuse expressive depth to user-friendly choruses. Live, mitchell_dot_wave makes his total ease and enjoyment contagious.

mitchell_dot_wave's 4-song home-produced EP includes the orchestrated farewell "When You Crawl," the neo-campfire acoustic "We Had Fun Today," the polyphonic street talk of "Broken Down" and the barebones verses and supersized refrain of "Don't Be Afraid."
