As a team of skilled songwriters and collaborators, Mitchell Street Band deftly produces the perfect balance between familiar sounds from the past with the burgeoning musical trends of the future. Soaring harmonies reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young coupled with an iPod-friendliness similiar to Mayer, Mraz, and Matthews make Mitchell Street Band's unique sound second to none.
The three primary members of Mitchell Street Band recently returned to Bloomington, IN from touring the world singing a cappella music onboard Celebrity Cruises. Their impeccable vocal blend and three-part harmony style woven into their music was tempered by singing together at Indiana University in the nationally renowned men's a cappella group Straight No Chaser.
In addition to exceptional vocals, this band has an extremely tight and dynamic rhythm section. The keys, bass (Eugene McGhee), and drum players (Darnell Perkins) studied jazz at the prestigious Indiana University School of Music and offer an incredible wealth of musical knowledge and talent to Mitchell Street Band. This invaluable asset of Mitchell Street Band offers a particular vibrancy to the band's listeners and continually allows for various styles of repertoire and rhythmic grooves to be heard in the Midwest nightclubs and college towns MSB calls home.
