Bio

When Mitch Langley discovered the power and wonder of knowing Jesus Christ, his spiritual and musical life began. Mitch started writing songs that spoke loudly of the greatness of our Father, the love of His Son and the power of His Spirit, and he wrote them with the passion and integrity of a new believer.

In 2007, Mitch went into a Lawrence, Kansas recording studio with a couple of friends, several years’ worth of songs, and the hope that God would use said songs to draw people into His presence. “To be revolutionary” was the message. God is calling us to be His peculiar people, and His holy nation. He’s calling us to be set apart. Those were the thoughts on Mitch’s heart, and they came through with the kind of conviction and clarity that only come when The Holy Spirit is leading our art.

But now it’s 2009, and Mitch isn’t working solo anymore. He’s preparing to head into the studio this summer for the first time with a real full band, and the excitement and momentum are palpable. As Mitch’s faith has matured, so have the words with which he worships. As this band’s talent grows, so does the creativity of our songwriting. The singer/songwriter vibe is still subtly present--something akin to Dashboard Confesssional or Matt Kearney-- but we’re a band, and we play like a band (Coldplay, Pink Floyd and The Clash are some of our favorites.)

Mitch Langley and The Plugged-In Band are excited about moving forward. Our humble goal is to bring a sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord, and to worship Him in a way that is spiritually encouraging to others while being musically intriguing to us. If you hear any of this in our music, please consider praying for us, and if our vision is something you’d like to bring to your church or venue, please consider inviting us to come worship with you. We’re excited to hit the road and see where The Lord is taking us.
