Bio

Founded in Concord, California in 1999, Mitch Polzak and the Royal Deuces have been entertaining audiences world wide with their engaging original sound and highly entertaining live stage show.

The hi energy three piece ensemble performs Rockabilly from the late '50's Sun Records era, blazing guitar instrumentals from influences such as Joe Maphis, Merle Travis, and Don Rich, with a wide a range of Bakersfield Honky Tonk, Truck Driving classics, Ameripolitan and classic Country music.  Mitch also adds the 5 String Banjo to the show, bringing in the influence of Earl Scruggs and Ralph Stanley as well as some of his own compositions, creating the highly unique and much loved "Banjobilly" sound.

Mitch has worked and or recorded with such artists as Deke Dickerson, Peter Rowan of Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, Don Maddox of The Maddox Brothers and Rose, Joe Clay, Lazy Lester, Gene Summers, Chris Sprague, Johnny Cuviello (Drummer for Bob Wills), and has published articles for Play Guitar magazine.

Veteran drummer Les James (Red Meat, Wanda Jackson, The Plain High Drifters) adds a groove deeper than the Grand Canyon and harmony vocals that blend seamlessly.  He also blends seamlessly with the banjo , reminiscent of the sounds of Jimmy Martin or the Osbourne Bros.

Hank Maninger (The Hacienda Brothers, The Aquavelvets)  is the bass player, locking tighter than Fort Knox with Les James and adds vocals as well filling out a beautiful 3 part harmony blend.

The band has entertained audiences multiple times at the legendary Viva Las Vegas Rock n Roll event in Las Vegas, Hot August Nights in Reno for the Peppermill Casino, The Shake the Shack Festival in Seattle, and many other engagements throughout the US as well as appearances in Holland, Belgium, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
