Mjay

Mjay is currently working on his 1st album singing, writing and producing each song with the very talented and well respected South Australian producer Rob Pippan.

In 2007 Mjay was selected in the Top 6 of Australia for the "Glen Shorrick" Scholarship Award and performed in front of more than 5000 people at "Lyndoch Uncorked"
He was later selected in the "Top 100" in "Australian Idol"

In 2009 Mjay was selected in the "Top 25 Australian songwriter of the year awards" he also made it to the Top 40 in 2007 & 2008.
Mjay also takes part in charity events in ADELAIDE performing for "KIDS FOR CANCER" on numerous occasions.

Mjay's inspiration and passion for music and songwriting came at the very young age of just 8 years old when he was sent to "TOWNSEND HOUSE" school for the blind. Whilst trying to overcome his vision disabilities he taught himself to play keyboards and threw himself into music. This dedication and with the love and support of his Family he not only over came his Vision problems but developed himself into a seriously talented and heartfelt singer/songwriter.

There are a few "Influences" in Mjays music. "Stevie Wonder has been a real inspiration for me because he "FEELS" the music and nothing stood in his way not even blindness". Ray Charles is another, I just LOVED the soulfullness in his voice but probably my biggest inspiration is "MICHAEL JACKSON" the man is a genious in songwriting & production and i loved his imagination and the emotion he put into everything he did!

I Put my heart and Soul into my music and I think this comes across when I perform. People that come to my shows have "cried" and asked me "where can i buy that song" I believe that the music I write really "Means" something to people who hear it and that part is very important to me.

I do like to have "FUN" with my music to and have been known to pack out the dance floor with some of my more UP TEMPO tracks and i occasionally throw in some "COVERS" too. Usher, Chris Brown, Akon and other R&B artists get the fans going too!!
