I Do

Written By: Mark Holme

Here we stand
Hand in hand
Taking our vows we say I Do
Church bells are ringing
Our hearts are singing
Their song of love
Two turtle doves

Here we stand
Hand in hand
Taking our steps in the first dance
People are cheering
The band is playing
Our favourite song
We sing along

Whatever life brings our way
We'll have each other come what may

Here we stand
Hand in hand
Cameras click and flash bulbs pop!
Your bouquet goes flying
A bridesmaid is smiling
She made the catch
She's met her match

(Solo)

Here we stand
Hand in hand
On the threshold of our honeymoon
You're in my arms now
I feel your charms how
We conjugate
Some verbs till late

Whatever life brings our way
We'll have each other come what may
We'll face it all we'll see it through
And I'll be so glad we said
Oh so doggone glad
I'll be so glad we said I Do!
I'll be so glad we said I Do!

I Sure Hope The Lord Likes Country Music

Written By: Mark Holme

Last night I dreampt I'd died and gone to heaven
I drempt that I saw angles in white
I drempt that I saw grandma smiling down at me
I dreamt that I saw grandpa with a banjo on his knee

I walked right on up to those gates so pearley
I saw St Peter he looked right through me
I heard him say, 'Hey boy, is that a guitar you've got there?'
I said, 'Yes sir and back home this is what we call a prayer.'

I sure hope the lord likes country music
He knows there's good and bad in everything
I know he's got a gospel choir in his backing band
And when it comes to some hot fiddle
He lets the devil lend a hand
'Cause country brings us all closer together
Helps us share our sorrows and our joys
I sure hope the lord likes country music
Or we're sure in a loud of trouble
Get my lawyer on the double
We're sure in a load of trouble now

Without a sound those pearly gates swung open
Saint Peter stepped aside to let me through
I stood a while in awe blinded by the light
Someone gave me some shades so I could see to find my way

I walked the straight and narrow path before me
Not straying to my right or to my left
I saw familiar faces from the Grand Ole Opri days
Proud to take my place as I raised my voice in praise we sang

I sure hope the lord likes country music
He knows there's good and bad in everything
I know he's got a gospel choir in his backing band
And when it comes to some hot fiddle
He lets the devil lend a hand
'Cause country brings us all closer together
Helps us share our sorrows and our joys
I sure hope the lord likes country music
Or we're sure in a loud of trouble
Get my lawyer on the double
We're sure in a load of trouble now

Yes country brings us all closer together
Helps us share our sorrows and our joys
I sure hope the lord likes country music
Or we're sure in a loud of trouble
Get my lawyer on the double
We're sure in a load of trouble now

Maybe You'll Stay

Written By: Mark Holme

Maybe
I know it's late but maybe
If I can find the words in time
Maybe you'll stay

I know
We'll take our time and go slow
We've got all night if we don't fight
Maybe you'll stay

It's not surprising
Temperatures are rising
As we look, as we look
Into each others eyes
I know you feel it
You can't conceal what we both know
Then you say oh
Maybe you'll stay

Maybe
If you stay here a little longer
You'll miss your train
I won't complain
'Cause maybe you'll stay

I know
If I moved in a little closer
Held you like this
And if we kiss
Maybe you'll stay

It's not surprising
Temperatures are rising
As we look, as we look
Into each others eyes
I know you feel it
You can't conceal what we both know
Then you say oh
Maybe you'll stay
Maybe you'll stay
Maybe you'll stay
