Bio

Mike King Collective (MKC) is London’s innovative and unique soul, jazz, gospel, R&B vocal group whose energy, rich harmonies and uplifting performances are already making an impact on audiences in the UK.

MKC, recently founded and directed by Mike King, stands for friendship, unity and a love of music. Mike King has coached and trained 30 talented individuals to produce a rare mix of moving and enriching music creating a signature sound.

The collective is unique in that it has people from all walks of life – senior executives to students and those who are unemployed – all brilliant vocalists. MKC has a strong family spirit with every member supporting each other.

MKC has begun to make its magic work. Described by judges at the 2012 Choir of the Year competition as “the new wave in choir singing”, the collective have since performed on the West End, in Trafalgar Square, at the BT Auditorium and at events such as the Taste of Christmas Exhibition. MKC recently performed with Angelique Kidjo for International Women's Day at the Royal Festival Hall in March 2013.

With a diverse repertoire of original arrangements of songs from artists such as Beyoncé, Bill Withers, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Justin Timberlake, Kirk Franklin, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder and U2, and traditional spirituals and gospel favourites, expect inspiring and dynamic renditions to leave you inspired.
