"Planet S Magazine"

In addition to the Saskatchewan musicians, Kongawi is flying in a 23-year-old vocal wunderkind from London, England named Oliver Thomson. The two met on a cruise ship gig and became fast friends, and what started as a bit of a joke became a reality when Thomson decided to come to Saskatoon for the show. Motown has produced some of the best singers of the modern era, so it’s a high compliment that Kongawi has faith in Thomson to front the band. - Craig Siliphant

"The Pink wig Foundation"

Mo Love, a band born in the mind of Christian Kongawi, has been fleshed out and realized by some of Saskatoon’s best young musicians. Previous incarnations included Phoenix Laurén, Josh Palmer, Gent Laird, Ariel Sanders, Ben Parker, and many more. Now Mo Love returns with some new members, some familiar faces, and the same great grooves; from the classic hits of Detroit’s Motown Records, Stax Records from Memphis Tennessee, and all of the music up to the present that has been inspired and derived from this ever important musical time period.

The current line-up consists of local legend Theresa Sokyrka on vocals, Elias Edlund on guitar and vocals, Ryan Marshall holding down the bass, and Roger Mercier on drums. They are back to rock the Second Annual Pink Wig Gala, and they are ready to make you dance! - The Pink Wig Foundation
