Mocha B

BandR&BAdult Contemporary

Mocha B's music is music for the heart, mind, body, and soul. The heart keeps the mind going, the mind controls the body, and the body contains the soul. My music feeds the soul so everything can work in harmony.

Biography

Still in the beginning stages of her career, Mocha B is not one to be mistaken as a beginner.

At the age of 7, she realized she had a unique voice and could sing while on the schoolyard during recess. While playing with fellow schoolmates, she was also singing a Toni Braxton song. To her surprise, her schoolmates began to compliment her on her beautiful voice.

Growing up in church, Mocha B always looked forward to the music and hearing the choir. During services, she read the hymn book instead of the scriptures. So it’s no surprise that by the age of 14 Mocha B decided she would take her God-given talent and pursue a singing career. Not only because she was good, but also because it made her happy and always felt right. No matter what was going on, she could wrap herself up in a good song and sing her heart out. Sing out her pain. Sing out her joys. Just sing!

However, singing is not all she does. Mocha B also writes the most beautiful and poetic songs.

We all remember what life was like in our early twenties. The life that Mocha B is experiencing right now. The life of young love. Falling in love. Falling out of love. Breaking up to make up and all the feelings that come along with this stage in life. These experiences are the inspiration she draws from.

Mocha B says, “I want my music to transcend time and be classic. I want my music to touch people no matter what race or culture. I want you to be able to hear and feel my feelings. I want to touch you. I want you to be able to get into the mood of the music.”

She is certainly off to a good start to accomplishing those goals. Having worked with some of the best producers and fellow artist, Mocha B has certainly gotten her feet wet in the performance arena. Mocha B has worked with Sixela Inc., was featured on Andujuan Jackson’s album, a fellow Sixela Inc. artist. She’s worked with producer/rapper Swanni Swish, reggae/dancehall artist J-Luv, sang background for Nikki J. Crawford and gospel artist Neesa Shenay, and wrote songs and recorded for Barry Brewer of GF Productions.

Through her pursuits in her career, Mocha B draws from many of her musical influences. She takes qualities from each of them and packages them for her own unique style. Mocha B takes the hard work ethic and consistency from Beyonce, while drawing on the sultry and seductive voice of Anita Baker. From Ella Fitzgerald, she claims the vocal flexibility and allows her voice to become one with the music yet stand on it’s own. And from Brandy, she embraces her dark chocolate complexion and distinguishing voice and uses them to her advantage.

And with all of these qualities you only have one Mocha B.

Lyrics

Call It Love

Written By: Mocha B

Sitting here
Thinking about what happened today
Every second
Every connection
Took my breath away

And I never imagined
To be swept off my feet
I feel so free
ohhhh

Words can’t describe
Words can’t describe
Feeling so amazed
Feeling so amazed
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes
Can you make my dreams come true

What is this that makes me feel this way
Why is it that your smiles seems to brighten up my day

IIIII
Can only reach true bliss and happiness With you by my side

I think I’ll call it love

Stealing kisses
Taking this to a new high
We’ve let it flow
So let’s reach for the sky

Only God knows
What the future has in store for us
Enjoy the ride
If you can handle me
I’ll let you drive

What is this that makes me feel this way
Why is it that your smiles seems to brighten up my day

IIIIII
Can only reach true bliss and happiness with you by my side

I think I’ll call it love

I know you can fulfill all my needs
Your love is all I’ll ever need
All I’ll ever need
Yeah

I know you can fulfill all my needs
Your love is all I’ll ever need
All I’ll ever need
Yeah

Thinking of you everyday
And I’m
Dreaming of the words you’ll say
When I
Tell you that I do believe
That you
You can make all my dreams come true

Words can’t describe
Words can’t describe
Feeling so amazed
Feeling so amazed
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes
Can you make my dreams come true

What is this that makes me feel this way
Why is it that your smiles seems to brighten up my day

IIIII
Can only reach true bliss and happiness With you by my side

I think I’ll call it love
