Bio

“It's All About the Beat,” and she's not just talking about drums. Mo believes that two things make a song work: drum beats and lyrical cadence. Her philosophy is simple : “The percussion moves your body; the words move your soul.” This is more than evident in Mo's unique brand of Sensual Pop-Rock. Her well-crafted melodies showcase a voice that resonates with intense power and emotion.

"Six years, in pain… I'm losin' my mind, again and again."

There's no part of Mo's life that she won't write about. “I believe that you have to write as if nobody you know will ever hear your song. That way you can tell the true story, the way you see it, the way you lived it.” Mo wrote her first song lyrics when she was eleven years old. That was the same year she started singing in the school choir. It was also the year that she was told that her voice was too loud. Mo always knew her voice had power, she just didn't realize how much. Constantly told to “keep it down” and realizing that it simply wasn't possible, Mo finally found two things that would shut her up: a blank sheet of paper and a sharpened pencil.

It wasn't until Mo turned fifteen that she began to give in to the power of her voice, and this time, people listened. She was discovered by famed vocal coaches- Ron Andersen (LeAnn Rimes) and Seth Riggs (Whitney Houston). Taking her under their wing, the duo taught her to harness that strength.

Continuing to follow her musical passion, Mo traveled to Italy to study music at La Studio Di Brittanica, financing her education by playing and singing in the clubs of Florence. Soon thereafter, she found herself touring Germany where she partnered with Christian Seidal to shoot her first music video. When she was offered a job performing with Joe Cocker at the legendary Royal Albert Hall, Mo immediately headed to London. This show helped her to realize one of her dreams…signing her first record deal. With Viper/ Sanctuary Records, she was introduced to and worked with three of her favorite collaborators, Andrew Roachford, John William, and Matt Prime.

After completing her self-titled EP, Mo parted ways with Viper and came back to the United States where almost immediately upon her arrival in Los Angeles, one of her songs found its way into the hands of David Foster and the producers of "Pop Stars", on The WB network. The song was recorded by Eden's Crush and Mo became the youngest songwriter on that show. Just over a year ago Mo became one of the three finalists in the Pantene Pro Voice Competition for singer songwriters 14 –24 across America. Mo was flown to New York and performed with Vanessa Carlton, Mya and Tweet on Mtv2 and Mo's song, “She's Out Of Control” aired on the Pantene Commercial.

Residing in Los Angeles, Mo continues to play shows and has currently signed a production deal with Peter Amato and Jess Sutcliffe. Amato has written and produced for The Baha Men, LeAnn Rimes and more. Sutcliffe is a 14 times Grammy nominee mixer/engineer who has worked with Prince, The Rolling Stones and more. Mo's track  “Numb”  was recently featured on the hit TV mini series “Beach Girls” , starring Julia Ormond and Rob Lowe.
