"Hip Hop - The 100th Version"

Christian Video of Holy Scriptures
Sweeps Earth
Children—Adults

Those new to the Bible—Those who know it well...all appreciate this fast-moving 80-minute Bible video panorama.

SURPRISING VERSION: When first proposed to us, we at first refused to produce a Hip Hop version of God's Story. After listening to the Creation section read over the phone in this urban culture's style of rhyme, God impressed us to move on this version. Hip Hop was our 100th version. Many users of GS from around the world gave reports during two celebrations. At the end of the second celebration you can hear Modavador g and an excerpt out of God's Story: It's All Good in the Hood.

This contextulized rhyming style reaches the urban lost, teens to 40's. Hip Hop may not be "your" style, but since this Spoken Word version of God's Story maintains the integrity of the message, it is already penetrating this lost culture.

Dean Jones, renowned actor and dedicated Christian, narrates the English version. Foreign translation began in earnest in 1998 and in seven years, over 100 languages were completed. Every month new languages are requested or being added to the list of available translations.

Although dedicated missionaries labor to translate God's Word into new languages, many people still cannot read! God's Story in video and audio form spans this gap. Instantly, people can HEAR God's Word and SEE Bible stories illustrated. "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17

"Lyrical, Biblical Innovator & Hip Hop Griot"

Modavador G....The Lyrical, Biblical Innovator and Hip Hop Griot.
By Carmen Avery agzusdva@yahoo.com
Being a word person who ministers, I am always interested to hear how others present the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been done dozens of ways—in poetry, song and of course in motion pictures. Even the most renowned actors and dramatists do not hold a candle to the styling of Modavador G!

George Salter, aka Modavador G, uses his lyrical gift to reach the hood and beyond. Understanding that some find the written word prohibitative due to their limited reading skills, he uses his talents as an emcee to fashion a project that will bring them into the fold. Having victoriously overcome his battle with dyslexia, Salter used his personal knowledge of its difficulties as a way to minister to others. By translating and narrating Hip Hop style, he is true to his fast New York upbringing while honoring his new life in Jesus as well. It is obvious that he has a heart for God and a true desire to speak to God’s people in a vernacular that they can relate to.

I was intrigued by his concept-presenting “God’s Story”, a spoken Hip-Hop mixed spin on the biblical text geared toward Youth. The God Story Project offers the entire bible giving special emphasis on Jesus along with His mission and message. Each foundational truth is carefully entwined with a beat, provided by Spec, which draws you closer to a clearer understanding of the text, as we know it. Modavador’s storytelling style entices you to learn the story just so you can speak it along with him. God’s Story uses the innovative combination of Old School rhyme with Nu School Spoken Word stylings to produce a ministry tool par excellence! This inventive genre is sure to draw and keep the attention of listeners of all ages.

As I listened to the 80 minutes of scripture translated to get the attention of the Nu-Nation of believers, I was captivated by the smooth, rhythmic flow of each portion of the bible. Each section was clear, succinct and never lost the integrity of the Scripture in its interpretation.

Even more ingenious is the VCD that had me literally mesmerized. The artwork made complete the bible stories and communicated the powerful anointing that is clearly driving this project. God’s Story is a true testament of the “new thing” Scripture speaks about…and It’s All Good In The Hood!

God's Story: It's All Good in The Hood- Hip Hop Mix, uses Spoken Word to speak God's Word. It's Poetry in Motion - Holy Hip Hop Daily Devotion where Modavador g uses rhymes to tell Bible story from, Genesis to Revelation. Going from Creation through key Old Testament stories in choronological order lays a clear foundation for understanding who Jesus is, and why he came to die.

Known as the “Paw-Paw” of Holy Hip Hop, George Salter, a.k.a. Modavador g, grew up fast on the streets of Buffalo, New York, only coming to Jesus in his late 30s. His lyrics bridge the gap, between the church and the streets, when he speaks God's Word over hip hop beats.

Struggling with dyslexia made reading hard for Modavador, yet he kept to the grind, graduating from university with honors and doing graduate seminary work.

Still today, Modavador prefers hearing a story more than reading a story. So when the opportunity came to translate and narrate God's Story into hip hop, he didn't hesitate.

It's All Good in the Hood - Hip Hop Mix became the 100th language version production of The God's Story Project. The awesome impact of God's Story comes from its design of covering the whole Bible in storytelling format.

"Using my gifts as a lyricist to present the whole Bible in spoken word was God's great gift. It is my hope that all people, yes even those like me who grew up in the hood, will discover that God is good and that He keeps His promises to His people.

"To all my peeps, God's Story took me deep into God's Word. Come with me cuz' God's Story (truly) is all good in the hood. All praises go to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
