MODE PLAGAL - DISCOGRAPHY
MODE PLAGAL (Ano Kato Records) 1995
The first album of Mode Plagal is an enjoyable mix of traditional Greek music tunes jazz and soul that transforms itself continuously, without ever stopping being accessible to the listener. Popular traditional music riffs from Florina and Thrace followed by jazz solos and constantly moving percussion are the foundation. But the music does not stop there and keeps on exploring the music borders. This album is a milestone in the history of Greek jazz.
MODE PLAGAL II (Lyra) 1998
The second album of Mode Plagal moves gracefully across genres such as jazz, ethnic funk or trance and makes music sound the way Simonides, the ancient Greek writer described it, "just like pouring wine". Mode Plagal is the band's name but also "their manner". And in Mode Plagal II they prove what that means.

MODE PLAGAL IIII (Lyra) 2001
Unlike its predecessors, whose material was mostly instrumental, "Mode Plagal III" features a formidable cast of some of the country's finest female vocalists, Yiota Vei, Savina Yannatou, Eleni Tsaligopoulou and Theodosia Tsatsou. With the recording of their third album, Mode Plagal have completed 10 years of dealing, researching and experimenting on traditional greek music. In "Mode Plagal III",the group arranges traditional greek folk songs from Continental Greece, Epirus, Thrace, Macedonia and the Aegean island of Patmos.

BOSPHORUS & MODE PLAGAL: BEYOND THE BOSPHORUS (Hitch-Hyke Records) 2003
In their latest release, Mode Plagal collaborate with Bosphorus, a group with turkish musicians and traditional instruments who bring forth the sound and experience of the Eastern and Anatolian musical tradition. The symbolism of the Bosphorus straights as a pasage from one world to the another, from one sea to the other and from one continent to a new world. The two groups try with their music to capture the echo of the indescribable sound of this crossroad through time and space.
