"Jacob Roesch Review"

"Its bright sound a welcome backdrop to the gray cold of Sawmill Parkway. I thought the instrumentation was quirky and catchy and on the whole felt the EP was a strong effort. The drummer is insane on the album, changing time and playing with so many rhythm patterns my head was spinning. Though I liked the lead singers voice, I thought the addition of Sarah's was a nice counterpoint and would have loved to have heard more of it interspersed throughout the album. My favorite track was 'Nathaniel the Coal Miner'...I loved the Arcade Fire yell engineered."

Bio

Modern Major Generals is a group of friends who play instruments together.

In late February 2008, they released their debut EP, Two Three Four. It was recorded in the beginning of 2008 at Small Room Studio in Yonkers, NY. This 4 song EP captures the band's catchy rhythms alongside quirky storytelling lyrics. From the Western shootout "How It's Supposed To Be" with undertones of the death throes of an ending relationship to a husband and wife's plea to each other in "Nathaniel the Coal Miner", Modern Major Generals craft musical tales that bounce between cheerfulness and colorful substance.

Two Three Four is self-released, online, for absolutely free.
