Modern Rifles
Demo
“One could easily envision a song like “Terroplane” on alternative or modern-rock radio. In fact, much of everything on this demo is pretty balls-out. It’s catchy enough to appeal to indie-scenesters, and hard enough for headbangers as well. Good stuff.”

Bio
Unforgiving, honest, and ardent; Modern Rifles interweaves counter pointing melodies with unconventional rhythmic aggression. Their chemistry and intensity fosters into a musical crescendo that is their live performance. These waves of sonic fulmination will engulf one's senses and emotions like waves of a tsunami engulfing a city. The interplay between Brian's no holds bar drumming, Daryl's unorthodox angular passages, and the braided guitar parts of Jon and Dan culminate into an apex of sonic veracity. Yet the band's roots lie within bands such as: Sunny Day Real Estate, No Knife, Don Cab, Pegboy, Jawbox, Engine Down, Jesus Lizard, Unwound, Drive Like Jehu, and aMiniature, Modern Rifles never come off as contrived or derivative.
The progeny of Modern Rifles was in the latter part of 2005. Shortly after, the band recorded a 4-song demo that has been well received with radio airplay and glowing reviews. The band has been playing relentlessly throughout California in 2006 and has plans to go into the studio to record in the begining of 2007.
